Enhancing Spotify’s User Engagement
Creating playlists is a popular activity among Spotify users; however, curating playlists based on a personalized theme/preferences can be challenging and time-consuming. This case study explores an innovative solution to this problem, designed to enhance the user experience through social interaction.

Design solutions
The new feature enables users to request personalized song recommendations based on their preferences and share these requests directly on social media. Users customize their preferences through a form and post it to their Instagram Story. Friends can tap the story, which opens Spotify, submit song recommendations through the form, and upon submission, all responses are automatically compiled into a dedicated playlist in the user’s library.
